Universal Components integrates European Truck & Trailer

Universal Components has announced plans to integrate European Truck and Trailer from 1 August 2009.

From this date all orders will be transacted through Universal Components allowing customers to place just the one order for all Universal or associated branded products.

All Universal brands are managed by separate warehouse teams who specialise in the picking and packing of various lines including body panels offered by European Truck & Trailer. Read More..

UK Batteries to bring back brands

Three UK battery names are set to make a dramatic return to the aftermarket after UK Batteries revealed it has acquired the Oldham, Tungstone and Crompton brands.

Although the origins of the brands stretch as far back as the 1920s, it was during the 1970s when they achieved heavyweight status. Under the representation of the British Battery Manufacturers Society (BBMS), the Oldham, Tungstone and Crompton brands were three of the five names that commanded around an 85% share of the UK battery market. Dinex promotion aims for enhanced awareness

UAN approved supplier of commercial vehicle exhausts, Dinex, is running an LCV Promotion  from 15th June to 31st July on selected Mercedes and VW LCV parts.

CV operator show confirmed

The first Commercial Vehicle Operator Show will open at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham on Tuesday 13 April next year. 

The new, three day business event is aimed at professional road transport operators and it will show the widest possible range of products and services used to run vans, trucks trailers, buses and coaches of all sizes and types.

SMMT presents the facts on the motor trade

The 2009 guide to the UK motor industry covers the full vehicle life cycle, with sections on registration and production data. 

This year it also has information on eco innovations, greener driving and end-of-life vehicles.  The guide shows that the UK auto industry exports 76% of the vehicles it makes and that last year the UK registered 2,131,795 cars and 351, 384 CVs. Read More..

Fuel Parts ready for new law

Fuel Parts UK says it has everything in place for the changes due to take place in June 2009, following the introduction of Type Approval on Catalytic Converters.

Training key says Manbat

Manbat has reported significant sales growth in the UK aftermarket.

Increasing sales of OE brand Varta, along with its own brand Numax, and the expansion of the leisure sector account for majority of the gains, however without training, the picture would be far less rosy says the company.

Delphi reaffirms commitment to aftermarket

In a letter to UAN and its members, Delphi vice-president Lucia Veiga Moretti has underlined Delphi's commitment to the aftermarket, as the company entered into negotiations with BeijingWest Industries for the sale of its global suspension and brakes business.

Moretti said: "We remind you, however, that Delphi Product and Service Solutions (Delphi’s Aftermarket Division), remains committed to its braking, steering, suspension and shock absorbers products for the aftermarket. DPSS continues to expand its Original Equipment product offerings including Air Conditioning, Vehicle Electronics and Diagnostics & Technical Support portfolios for the independent aftermarket.
